A baguette is a long, thin type of French origin. It is commomly tucked under an arm when still warm on walk home from work via the boulangerie. Made from basic lean dough, it is set apart by its length and crisp crust.

A baguette has a diameter of about 5 to 6 centimeter (2-2+1/2 inches) and a usual length of about 65 cm (26 in), although a baguette can be up to 1m (39 in) long.
