Olafur’s primary work outside of his art is focused on designing and delivering clean energy solutions, inspiring people to take climate action and ultimately making clean energy access universal. Little Sun , founded by artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederick Ottesen aims to make a global impact.

Their programs in Africa aim to develop communities that are powered by solar energy, in turn reducing climate inequalities and bring their vision of a world completely run by renewable energy to fruition. Although they still run their social enterprise business to fund some of the work in Africa, forming a non-profit entity to help raise additional funds means the vision of a solar powered future is a little closer.
