The Mara series is a tribute to Ana Kras’ late grandmother, Mara. Inspired by her her kitchen, which was entirely covered in laminate, this collection reflects the designer’s childhood in Serbia when laminate was both popular and cherished. Known for its durability, ease of cleaning, and non-precious nature, laminate serves as the core material in this ongoing exploration of deconstructing archetypal shapes into more surfaces, which are then laminated to create varied graphic experiences.

The Mara ‘Twin’ is a T-shaped side table. Its simple form features surface extrusions, resulting in a dynamic appearance that shifts depending on the viewing angle. The base is finished in ivory and white, with blue accent lines on one side and orange accent lines on the other.
