    Read the Story

A diverse group of smiling adults and children pose outdoors with colorful artwork on white pedestals.

Hall Haus, a design collective that transcends the conventional boundaries of creativity, stands as a testament to innovation and a refreshing departure from the ordinary. Far from exuding an air of pretentiousness, this luminary group seamlessly blends a rigid framework with some of the most thrilling designs emerging from the contemporary design landscape. Each creation is not merely an object but a narrative, steeped in a rich and complex history that adds layers of depth to the visual spectacle they present. Teddy, Zakari, Abdoulaye, and Sammy make up the design collective who are currently based in Paris and its surrounding suburbs. We love their innovative and playful design, with their DNA never straying far from their original concept, a harmony between object, experience, and transmission.

Understanding Hall Haus means appreciating the mix of tradition and cutting-edge thinking in their work. The designers aren't just skilled craftsmen; they are storytellers navigating the dance between past and present. The term "ersatz" captures their approach—a blend of authenticity and innovation challenging preconceptions and introducing a new design paradigm. An intersection between contemporary modern design and a familiar heritage, their most recent project with IKEA approximates this idea. A house designed with a neighbourly community in mind, teaching us how to live in trust and reliance with our locale. The Hall Haus name explains their projection and aesthetic, “hall” being representative of the environment, the Parisian suburbs in which they grew up, and “haus” referring to the Bauhaus architectural movement, from which they all take great inspiration.

The pieces crafted by Hall Haus go beyond functionality, becoming timeless works of art. They attract attention in showrooms, inviting observers to explore their intricate details and unravel the stories they carry. The collective's commitment to pushing boundaries is evident in every curve, line, and material choice, creating a daring yet harmonious aesthetic. Moreover, the complex history of Hall Haus adds an intriguing layer to their creations. It's a journey marked by evolution, experimentation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The designers infuse their personal touch into each design, encouraging the audience to participate in the deconstruction and reconstruction of design history.

In a world saturated with mass-produced items, Hall Haus stands out as a symbol of vibrant creativity. Their designs challenge the norm, encouraging individuals to form a more personal, authentic connection with their surroundings. Hall Haus doesn't just make furniture; they create experiences, prompting individuals to rethink their living spaces and redefi ne their relationship with design. As one delves into the world of Hall Haus, it becomes clear that this collective isn't just about design; it's about evoking emotions, narrating stories, and ushering in a new era where design is a deeply personal and transformative journey. By breaking down conventional barriers, Hall Haus invites us to witness the magic that occurs when history, innovation, and personal identity converge in a symphony of design brilliance.
